Bolts & WashersEloy Way's 1993 Civic Dx Hatchback

PropulsionSmooothlinez's EG is powered by a K20A from a JDM DC5 Integra Type R. The K unit's bottom end is left unchanged while the top end has been reworked with Toda cams, valve springs, and retainers. Smoothlinez built a custom intake and header to accommodate the K series in the EG chassis. Once they leave the header, spent gasses are directed through a custom test pipe and out an RS*R catback system. Fuel is regulated by an SX FPR connected to an AEM fuel rail feeding RC 370cc/min injectors. A Hondata K-Pro. orchestrates the mapping. The K20 and its six-speed transmission transfer power via an ATS carbon clutch and flywheel combo. The torque is translated by an ATS differential. A Koyo radiator keeps things cool with the help of Samco hoses and a Mugen thermostat.

Rims & RubberThe EG rolls on 16x7 Mugen M7s wrapped in 205/50/16 Bridgestone Potenza tires.

StanceApex`i N1 coilovers suspend the hatch from all four corners. Prothane bushings were called upon to refresh the chassis by stiffening up tired, old rubber suspension parts with urethane ones. Skunk2 has the camber adjustability covered on this EG with an upper arm in the front and a camber kit for the rear. Stiffness at the shock towers is taken care of by a Type R bar in the front and a Spoon bar in the rear. ITR front and rear sway bars keep roll in check.

ResistanceThe brakes have been swapped out in favor of a stock GSR setup with the addition of Project pads and Goodridge stainless steel lines. Fluid is transferred by means of a DC5 master cylinder.

FashionInside: JDM Integra Type R Recaro seats and a Momo steering wheel are the only interior mods done to the car.Outside: JDM headlights, corner lamps, tail lights, spoiler, and moldings make up the short list of exterior parts on the EG. The paint was done in house by Smoothelinez in a Lexus Blue.

I.c.eAn Alpine head unit powers Infinity component speakers and a Kicker Solobaric 12-inch subwoofer.
