Bolts&WashersMike Ghadimi's1992 Civic CXPropulsionMike's hatch is powered by what started life as a stock B18C1. The GS-R powerplant is now a 9.4:1 compression turbo specific motor built by Jerry Guzman of Jerry Built. Guzman used 81.5mm Ross Racing turbo pistons on Eagle H-beam rods with ARP bolts to spin the stock GS-R crank. Joe Alaniz gave the GS-R head a full race prep including a port, polish, race valves, valve springs, and titanium retainers. Toda cam gears spin the stock GS-R bumpsticks.

Spent gases are sent through a custom turbo manifold fabricated by Gary Castillo of Design Craft Fabrication into a precision SC34 turbo and out a custom three-inch turbo-back exhaust with an APEXi muffler by Joe of Valencia Muffler. Compressed air leaves the SC34 through an Evotion intercooler and into a JG Edelbrock intake manifold via an STR 68mm throttle body. Excess exhaust gas leaves through a Tial 40mm wasetgate while extra intake charge is taken care of by a GReddy Type RS blow-off valve. Inline between the block and the turbo sits an Evotion oil cooler.

A Hondata S200 manages a set of 750cc RC injectors fed by a Walbro 255-lph fuel pump by way of a SX performance fuel pressure regulator on an STR fuel rail. Spark is delivered via an MSD coil and ignition box with NGK race plugs and wires. A Clutch Specialties stage 2 clutch bolted to an ACT final drive transfers power. The whole setup hangs in the engine bay on Hasport solid mounts.

StanceThe EG sits on Tanabe Sustec Pro coilovers at all for corners. A Mugen front strut bar and a Carbing lower tie bar help the Kirk six-point roll cage and EM Racing Z-bar stiffen the chassis.

ResistanceRotora discs replace the stock offerings under OEM calipers with AEM pads. All four brake lines are Earl's stainless steel braided lines with nothing but OEM Honda Fluid flowing through them.

Rims & RubberToday the hatch is rolling on 16inch Work RS-Betas in 4x100 with a +38 offset shod in Yokohama AVS ES100's sized 205/45R-16. We'll see what rollers are on there tomorrow.

FashionInside: Mike G straps himself into USDM Recaro SRD seats with his Sparco 3-inch harnesses before grabbing the Momo MonteCarlo till and stepping on the Mugen Sports pedals. Dfi oil pressure, boost, and EGT gauges help the JDM SIR gauge cluster keep tabs on the car's vitals. A Greddy Profec B controls the boost, and a GReddy turbo timer cools things down. A Benen carbon-fiber fuel pump cover adds a bit of bling to the hatch's interior.

Outside: All of the EG's body panels are stock except for the VIS carbon lip and Benen carbon rear spoiler. JDM headlights are complemented by vision corner lights and JDM taillights. On each door is a Honda Access window visor and a Vision mirror. The car was painted in BMW Z4 urban green by Miguel Ortiz at MOBworks.
