TOV offers timely Honda- and Acura-related news and discussions, reviews, opinions, even hot air from time to time from some of its forum members, but nevertheless it is one of the most reputable Honda-related Web sites that we know of and is a worthwhile timewaster while at work.

Pro street Dyno shootout

Getting Honda Tuning to come to your next meet is easy. Just make sure there is plenty of free barbecue, a raffle with stuff people actually want to win, clean Hondas on display, and some sort of dyno competition. This is exactly what nearby Pro Street Import did early last May. The cars were sick and the dyno shootout was even sicker. Doug Jenkins from local shop Power Pros took the All-Motor Class with 261 hp while Sonic Racing's Richie Rodriguez, who laid down 291 hp, won the Nitrous Class. The real dyno king, however, was Felipe Medina from rival tuning shop Do It Dyno who put down a strong 767 hp. Those are numbers worth seeing, with or without the free food.

A Minivan You Want

Unless you live in Japan you won't be able to get Honda's coolest new compact minivan just yet. The Freed is powered by the small 1.5L i-VTEC engine and a slush box transmission, which are both presumably well suited for good gas mileage, but we are more interested in finding a way to stuff a K20A in place. The Freed is surprisingly low, which gives it a low center of gravity, meaning it might handle and perform better than minivans as we know them, especially if we can get that K swap in there. Honda's latest micro-van is also offered with an optional four-wheel-drive drivetrain and is said to seat up to up eight Japanese people, which is equivalent to about five Americans.
